Вот, кстати, ещё одна из причин, по которым я скептически отношусь к песням как к учебному материалу. Нигде вы не встретите столько из нижеприведенных сокращений, как в песнях. Многие из них, переведенные на русский дословно, звучали бы вообще как на Привозе, например helluva ≈ до хера (ой…)

• gonna = am going to, a = going to (i’m a = i’m going to)
• gotta = have got to
• wanna = want to
• dunno = don’t know
• gimme = give me, lemme = let me
• gotcha = got you, letcha = let you, betcha = bet you
• outa = out of
• c’mon = come on
• ya = you
• kinda = kind of
• lotsa = lots of, lotta = lot of, helluva = hell of a
